About LDA of MO

Here are some of the activities of our volunteer organization which benefit the learning disabled in Missouri:

• Provides information and support to parents, individuals with learning disabilities and professionals.
• Monitors and advises on special education legislation at the federal and state levels.
• Provides a scholarship for a senior with learning disabilities planning to attend college.
• Hosts an Annual State Conference each year in the fall in conjunction with Learning Disabilities Month.
• Provides workshops for parents and professionals.
• Promotes awareness, understanding and communciation between parents, educators and the community
• Advocates the need for appropriate and effective teacher training.
• Provides publications, pamphlets at cost to members as a service.
• Publishes the bi-monthly newsletter, "Perspectives." All members also receive the national newsletter, "Newsbriefs" and a newsletter from their local affiliate.
• Provides a video lending library.
• Provides a central location, through the LDA of Missouri State Office to support LDA of Missouri and local affiliate activities and supply information to the general public.

LDA of Missouri is an organization dedicated to the advancement of the education and general welfare of children and youth of normal or potentially normal intelligence who have learning disabilities of a perceptual, conceptual, or coordinative nature, sometimes accompanied by behavior difficulties.
