LDA of Missouri Art Competition Announcement
It is with pleasure that the Learning Disabilities Association of Missouri announces open competition for original art projects completed by persons with learning disabilities. Any person with a learning disability may enter; those of school age must have a current IEP.
Entries are accepted in the following events:
- Books
- Poetry
- Visual Art
- Photography
- 3-D Art project
Each event will be judged by the following age/grade categories:
- Grades K-2
- Grades 3-5
- Grades 6-8
- Grades 9-12
- Adult
Only one entry per person, per age/grade category per event will be accepted. All art work that is submitted must be original. No copies or cartoon characters will be accepted.
Due to the tremendous volume of entries in the past and small size of our office, teachers should not send entire class projects, but choose the best work among the students. Class projects will be returned without considertation. Each submitting teacher must send:
A) One Teacher Inventory Form, completed-in-full, with the student's original Individual Application Form attached, completed-in-full. Each form must be signed by the parent or guardian unless the student is 18 or older.
B) Individual student art projects with a copy of the Individual Application Form attached to the back or underside.
C) Or postage for use in returning original artwork. When paying for postage, cash, checks or UPS pick-up tickets only are accepted. The USPS will not allow use of pre-printed POSTAL or MAILING MACHINE TAPES FOR USE IN RETURNING ARTWORK. Only artwork with accompanying return postage will be returned to applicants. Due to the high cost of postage, all others will be destroyed.
If a teacher is shipping two or more packages, each package must include a completed Teacher's Inventory Form. Please do not combine work from multiple teachers or classes in one package. If more than one teacher per school is submitting work, they must be inventoried and shipped separately. Any packages received without the properly completed Teacher's Inventory Form and student Individual Application Form attached, any artwork received without a copy of the student's Individual Application Form attached, and any artwork received with a postmark dated later than the deadline of March 14, 2008 will be returned without being judged.
Entries may be hand-delivered or mailed to:
